DESCRIPTION:This workshop suits practitioners and students preparing for the NAATI Certified Provisional Interpreter or Certified Interpreter tests and seeking to improve their interactional management skills for the consecutive dialogue tasks.\n \nOverview:\nInterpreting in community settings is rarely limited to conveying a straightforward exchange of information. In addition to relaying messages, interpreters are often required to co-ordinate people’s talk or to “manage discourse” (Cecilia Wadensjö, 1998 & 2002).\nThis workshop aims to provide interpreters with knowledge, skills and strategies for how to best manage the flow of the communication when required. Learners will apply interaction management strategies in simulated scenarios. She graduated from Warsaw University with a Masters Degree in English Philology in 1991. In 2012 Anna obtained a Masters Degree in Interpreting and Translation Pedagogy from Macquarie University, Sydney.\nAnna has worked for HCIS for over 25 years. In her current position, she coordinates and facilitates training for health care interpreters across NSW. She has also taught interpreting at Macquarie University, developed medical interpreting resources for RMIT and facilitated several AUSIT seminars on medical interpreting and ethics.\nAnna is a recipient of the 2018 AUSIT excellence award for Outstanding Contribution to Translation and Interpreting.\nYour Registration will include:\n1.
