This webinar is for interpreters and translators working in Continence settings.

The Centre for Cultural Diversity in Ageing and All Graduates have collaborated through “Conversations: Interpreting and Translating” to provide training for interpreters and translators through a series of Aged Care webinars in 2021. The series consists of 5 parts and includes collaborations with other Aged Care organisations.

The fourth webinar in the series is in collaboration with the Continence Foundation of Australia.

Topics Covered:

Presented/Facilitated by:

Lisa Maunsell, B. Applied Science and Master of Health Sciences has worked as a nutritionist in health promotion for 12 years with not-for-profit organisations such as the Australian Red Cross and The Schools Canteen Association developing, implementing and evaluating health promotion policies and projects.

Joining the Continence Foundation in 2018 Lisa has been involved with engaging a diverse range of consumers, community organisations, service providers and health professionals to build capacity and strengthen skills in order to increase awareness of and confidence in dealing with continence related issues.

Nives Zerafa graduated from Monash University in Psychology and Statistics. Having worked with the Australian Bureau of Statistics and Carers Australia in Canberra, she moved to Melbourne to work for the Continence Foundation of Australia in various roles and managing a number of projects, including Incontinence Outreach in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Communities in 2013.

This resulted in developing guidelines for interpreters to work with health professionals in a continence assessment setting, as well as bilingual web pages on the Foundation’s main website in 30 languages covering bladder and bowel control on topics such as dementia, prostate, prolapse, healthy habits and pelvic floor muscles training. Nives is currently exploring ways to engage with CALD communities following the aftermath of COVID.
